What happens when we create new "life" solely for our own ends? This is the familiar "just because we can do something, doesn't mean we should concept." The tradeoffs around creating life in order to destroy it for someone else's benefit - either indirectly through research that (potentially) leads to cures or directly through even more grisly ideas - should at the very least be treated more seriously than the discussion around stem cell research has been to date.
