To what extent should government regulate industry? Clearly, there is a role for government to referee the private sector, but just how much? Everyone decries the role and rise of lobbyists, but it is in direct correlation to the increase in government involvement. As government is involved in more decisions, businesses are forced to increase their investment in trying to influence it. Lobbying expenses would be zero in an anarchistic state (they'd probably be redeployed to personal protective services).
