How much does the government need and have the right to take? We don't even know how much we're paying in taxes, and we certainly have no idea where they're being spent. While we all acknowledge the need for government (and therefore taxes), the question is just how much we need, and at what cost. And generally without prices to guide them, government has an essentially impossible task in determining how to allocate its resources efficiently.
